About Me
My name is Charlotte, and I am a non-professional (though I wouldn't say amateur exactly!) critic and writer in her mid-twenties. I live with my long-term partner and fiancée, Sam, and our cat, Cider. We live a really pretty quiet life, and I'm happy that way! I studied English literature for my undergraduate program and poetry for my MFA program, so my background is in literature, but it's something I made a conscious decision not to pursue professionally, so don't expect too much in the way of that for this blog hehe. I have, for someone my age, a fairly long history online, having been a big forum-kiddie through the early 2010s, and I have maintained a small presence doing critical writing online (most of which can be found via Medium). This is kind of just the next step as I try to carve out a lil niche for myself!
On this blog, expect mostly casual long takes on little art pieces and media that I've been thinking about. I primarily spend time thinking and writing about games, but I have maintained a tiny little letterboxd following, and do some more broad "cultural" writing on rare occasions, so it'll be a mishmash of migrating older writings (and revisiting them) from other platforms, as well as new writings that deal generally in those fields (probably won't be a lot of music writing but you know...). I also write creatively! It's not impossible some of that gets hosted here at some point. This will as such just be a general purpose blog for anything I write, or create broadly in a way that might require webhosting haha.
I'm still new to web page development and all, but I plan to further flesh out this space as my comfort levels with HTML and CSS increase!
